Switzerland and the EU have agreed on a partial association to the first pillar of Horizon 2020 (“Excellent Science”), which will come into effect on 15 September 2014. The Federal Council has approved the financial support of researchers in Switzerland that are part of Horizon 2020 projects in all collaborative activities under the second and third pillar of Horizon 2020 on a project-by-project basis.
